30 - Irish Car Bombs are NASTY

I just thought I'd clarify that.

So Ben and I head to the Hyatt after dinner with my Dad to meet up with our friends Melly, Thomas, Brock, David and whoever else we happened to catch out there.

I guess Thomas and Melly had met Patton Oswalt at some point and are kind of friends with him, and so Thomas called him up and then Melly talked to him for a bit. How rad is that? This is a pic of Melly on the phone with him:

Brock also wanted to do an Irish Car Bomb with someone, so I volunteered thinking they were something else... Marlena doesn't like beer. So drinking a shot of Bailey's in a glass of Guinness is NOT my idea of a tasty adult beverage. Oh well, live and learn.

He also wanted a Colorado Bulldog, which I HAVE had and DO like, so I was all about that.

We called it an evening pretty early (before 2 am, sadly, was calling it early this particular weekend) and headed back to our hotel.

What do you know, the pics for this day are ALREADY up in the photo gallery! YAY!

Damn that hair is orange!

That's so funny. We saw that orange haired girl about five times on the elevator at our hotel. I had no idea she was one of your friends. But for the record we both loved her style.

YAY Erin and Bryan BOTH made it!

That's too funny that Melly was staying at your hotel! Isn't that funny what a small world it is?

Are you having a good birthday bash?

irish car bombs are good, they ARE good, they are GOOD!

Yeah, I had a good birthday over here! Monica baked me the best peach pie I have ever eaten (I prefer pie on my birthday over cake), Then later in the day we ordered pizza and had a horror movie marathon: The (Original 1974) Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Creepshow, and Re-Animator. After that Monica was traumatized so she took a nap. And I played some Resident Evil 4 and then drew some comics pages for a new story featuring a cute girl scientist and a sasquatch. Now that's what I call a fun day.

I've been catching up on your blogs but I haven't gotten around to reading all the comments. Anyway, you guys have been putting on quite a show here today! Thanks for the recaps. I love all the photos especially.

Later!

A proper Irish Car Bomb is a half Guinness with a shot glass dropped in it. Said shot glass is half Bailey's and half Irish Whiskey. I had 8 of them one night and was sick for days. Damn, they're yummy, though!

YAY! Re-Animator is one of my ALL TIME favorite movies! Did you see the Herbert West statue at the con? I got a couple pictures of it. What a great day you had. Can I be you for a little bit, Bryan?

Yikes, you mean I had Irish Whiskey too? Double Yuck! ;)
