33 - SDCC Day 5
Yes, it's the end of the road for our San Diego trip. I hope you have all enjoyed my antics in my retelling of what went down last weekend.
So before the trip happened, I invited my friend Erin to use my extra pro badge to get into comic con since she lives in California and could actually go. She let me know that she planned on coming to the con on Sunday, which was sadly, the day we were set to leave... early.
We decided that it would be best for us to meet for breakfast and then go into the con in the morning and then we'd leave for the airport and that would be that!
Well, it sort of happened that way...
Erin came to our hotel and we had breakfast in the restaurant in the lobby. It was good, because that's where we had eaten dinner with my Dad the night before. The service was kind of slow, so I was a bit worried, because we were on a tight schedule. But our waiter turned out to be really cool and laid back and Erin, her friend Monica and myself all got stuff from the breakfast buffet. Only Ben was foolish enough to order something from the menu (omelet).
So we get our food and eat it post haste and then try to ride the shuttle to the convention. It was in vain AGAIN, so we hailed a cab. The cab ride was dicey and the guy was kind of a jerk, he stopped and kicked us out WAY before he really needed to.
We were about to walk up to the convention center when Erin realized that she doesn't have her wallet. She needs her wallet, not only for spending cash, but she needs her ID to pick up her badge.
Crap.
So her friend Monica calls the hotel to make sure she didn't leave it at the restaurant, and it wasn't in our cab. Erin realizes its probably in her car, which she left at the hotel. So we beat cheeks to the convention center so she and Monica can ride the shuttle back to our hotel to get her wallet and we don't even get to say goodbye to them because the traffic cop stopped Ben and I from crossing the street after they had already made it across.
We sent each other some "bye!" text messages and then it was our last whirlwind day to run around the con and make some last minute purchases! Stay tuned for the trip home!
