American Idol Better Than Comic Con?
Apparently the Mayor of San Diego, Jerry Sanders, seems to think so.
Heard on talk radio uttering the phrase, "We've put up the superheroes and now we're on to the people with actual talent.", the Mayor seemed to be glad to be rid of the biggest money maker for the city for the, ummm "talent" of American Idol hopefuls.
Yeah... because they are there spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to come to your city every single year. This year's con SOLD OUT, a first for the con (which I am SO super sad that I missed out on, damn pregnancy and my lack of energy!), and who knows how much cash swept through the city. Sorry that "our lot" likes to dress up in costume sometimes to walk the streets of the Gaslamp district, but that doesn't mean our money is any less green.
So here's to my hope that the people that run comic con finally realize what a waste it is to have it in San Diego, when Las Vegas is MUCH more suitably equipped to handle the type of traffic that a con like this provides. Vegas LIVES off of tourists!!!
Not to mention my selfish reasons for wanting it to be there, I'm from there, so I know the ins and outs of the city better than anyone. I wouldn't have to pay for a hotel because I could stay with my Dad or any of my friends there, I wouldn't have to hoof it everywhere because I could borrow a car from my Dad, I happen to know where ALL of the In N Out Burgers are located... the list goes on and on.
Thanks, Mayor Sanders, for showing your true colors and here's to hoping that your cash cow of comic con dries up in the near future.
Another bonus, for people that like the beach, San Diego is only a 6 hour drive from Vegas. Come in a few extra days early and get some beach time before the con...

What a DoucheBag... Stan the Man should go over there and Beat his Dumb-Ass... A real Vegas con would be SuhWeet... I could kill 3 birdies with that stone...
